HISTORY


Bibinje was first time mentioned in 11th century, but in written documents it was first time mentioned in 1214. During the World War II, Bibinje was called Bibano. During the Turk attackes, Bibinje was located on peninsula, which is today Old Village. On east side of New Village in 1468. defence walls were built.

In 1570. Bibinje was burnt and ruined by Turks and inhabitants run away on islands. In 17th century Bibinje was renewed, but it was again ruined in 1646. and 1658.

For freedom of Bibinje and entire Dalmatia and Lika is mostly responsible priest Stipan Soric.

Bibinje (region North Dalmatia, Croatia) is located in Croatian region North Dalmatia, 6 km south from Zadar. Bibinje has around 4 000 inhabitants. It is well connected with whole Europe with buses, planes and trains... Bibinje has 4 km long promenade with beautiful beaches.

Climate is Mediterranean like in most parts of Adriatic. Summers are hot and winters are mild.
